Over 2,000 job openings support young people, Kaohsiung youth unemployment rate continues to fall
Kaohsiung City - Youth Bureau, to help young people under 24 find work, commissioned 1111 Job Bank to run the "Employment Hero Youth - Online Job Expo," with job openings surpassing 2,000, paired with the "Youth Work Check-in Incentive Program" (https://youthjob.kcg.gov.tw/). After a young person has been employed for 3 full months, they can apply for the first incentive payment of 9,000 yuan; after 6 full months of employment, the Youth Bureau will proactively issue a second incentive payment of 12,000 yuan, with each young person eligible to receive up to 21,000 yuan. The Youth Bureau not only helps young people find work but also rewards them for stable employment, in order to reduce frictional unemployment.
Deputy Mayor Luo Dasheng stated that in the first half of this year (2021), Kaohsiung's unemployment rate for youth aged 15 to 24 was 10.5%, a decrease of 1.9% from 12.4% in the second half of last year (2020), rising from fourth place to second place among the six special municipalities, showing that Kaohsiung's youth unemployment situation continues to improve. Although service industries such as accommodation and food services were hit relatively hard by the pandemic, the proportion of Kaohsiung's employed population working in service industries fell from 72% in the second half of last year to 67%, but the proportion working in industry rose from 26% to 31%, filling the service-sector employment gap caused by the pandemic. The Kaohsiung City Government is committed to finding breakthrough points, directing the Youth Bureau to set up the "Employment Hero Youth - Online Job Expo" section, and actively encouraging local enterprises less affected by the pandemic to provide quality job openings with no work experience required for young people to choose from, minimizing the impact of the pandemic.
Youth Bureau Director Zhang Yili stated that as the pandemic gradually eases, some enterprises' recruitment needs have increased. The "Employment Hero Youth - Online Job Expo" section already has more than 500 local enterprises, offering more than 2,000 quality job openings, with demand for more than 5,000 workers, and the number of enterprises and job openings continues to grow! It has already gathered positions such as "yacht FRP technician," "web graphic designer," "interactive game programmer," and "ERP information system engineer," which are popular among young people and offer decent pay, and young people seeking work for the first time are welcome to apply!
The "Youth Work Check-in Incentive Program" has already seen nearly 3,000 registrations. Young people who have not yet registered should hurry to the program website (https://youthjob.kcg.gov.tw/) to register, then use the "Employment Hero Youth - Online Job Expo" to search for jobs they like and conduct remote interviews with recruiting enterprises. After successfully working for 3 full months, they can apply online for the incentive payment. The Youth Bureau will issue incentive payments in the order applications are received, and once the budget is exhausted, applications will no longer be accepted. Kaohsiung's young people, get moving, register together to find work and collect your bonus! If you have any related questions, you are welcome to call 07-7995678 ext. 2345 or 2346, or send a direct message on the Youth Bureau's official LINE or Facebook fan page, and the Youth Bureau will have dedicated staff to explain and answer questions for young people.
