Premier Su Tseng-chang Encourages Post Office Staff and Presents Bonus Funds

Premier Su Tseng-chang yesterday (the 22nd) visited the Taipei Post Office of Chunghwa Post Co., Ltd. to encourage frontline staff and presented bonus funds, expressing the greatest recognition and gratitude to all the hardworking postal staff. The premier stated that postal workers had worked very hard during the pandemic delivering epidemic prevention supplies, distributing relief funds and assisting with logistics transportation. At the Executive Yuan's expanded epidemic prevention meeting, he had already approved including frontline postal processing staff as priority recipients for vaccination; regarding the various welfare measures the Ministry of Transportation and Communications had sought for postal staff, the Executive Yuan had also approved them all, hoping to provide postal staff with better care and to let citizens see the capability, hard work, dedication and importance of postal staff, and give them more support.

Premier Su pointed out that regarding relief funds, the postal company had cooperated in distributing them by transfer into accounts, amounting to nearly 10 billion yuan; for people without accounts, nearly 100,000 money orders had been issued, all thanks to the hard work of counter postal staff.

Premier Su mentioned that postal carriers also brought human warmth in epidemic prevention work. During delivery, if they learned in small alleys or remote areas that a household had a solitary elderly person or disadvantaged individual, even if there was no mail, the postal carrier would make a special effort to walk a few extra steps, knock on the door and show concern. This showed the warmer side of the postal company's nearly 26,000 staff, for which he particularly expressed recognition and gratitude.

Premier Su stated that he had come specially to present bonus funds, asking postal staff to work hard on one hand and take good care of themselves on the other, while also noting that this was of great significance to social stability.
