Fude Temple in Shimiao Village, Tuku Township "Eat Ding Wine, Give Away Pineapples" Event - Both Honoring the Gods and Helping Pineapple Farmers
On the morning of the 14th, Yunlin County Magistrate Chang Li-shan attended the "Eat Ding Wine, Give Away Pineapples" event at Fude Temple in Shimiao Village, Tuku Township. Chang Li-shan expressed gratitude to religious temples for also joining the pineapple marketing campaign, taking action to help pineapple farmers.
Magistrate Chang Li-shan said that the "Eat Ding Wine, Give Away Pineapples" event at Fude Temple in Shimiao Village not only celebrates the birthday of the Earth God and Earth Goddess with ding wine, but also gives away pineapples to fellow villagers to help pineapple farmers overcome the production and marketing difficulties caused by the inability to export pineapples. The county government is actively promoting Yunlin's agricultural products both domestically and internationally. Earlier this year, the county government facilitated cooperation between the county farmers' association and an agricultural products company, opening up international export channels and successively exporting Yunlin's quality vegetables and fruits to Southeast Asian countries such as Singapore and Malaysia. To date, a total of 70 tons of vegetables have been exported to Singapore and Malaysia. Additionally, due to stable climate conditions, the production of vegetables such as cabbage has increased significantly. To ease market pressure and stabilize prices, the county government continues to strengthen domestic sales channels, and has facilitated the purchase of 807 metric tons of cabbage to date.
Magistrate Chang Li-shan emphasized that in response to Yunlin's peak pineapple season from April to June, the county government has established an online pre-order platform. On the other hand, eyeing the rapidly growing Southeast Asian market in recent years, the county government is actively using multiple channels to provide market absorption opportunities for quality agricultural products, opening up new business opportunities for Yunlin's agricultural products.
Magistrate Chang Li-shan expressed gratitude to incense master Hao Si-wei for organizing this meaningful event, combining villagers' religious beliefs with agricultural marketing promotion. Pineapples, symbolizing "prosperity is coming," represent career development and bringing in wealth. She believes the Earth God will surely bless all our fellow villagers!
