Hsinchu County's "Youth Bamboo Dream Proposal" receives enthusiastic response; environmental greening will gain new perspectives

Last year, Hsinchu County held the "Green Giant Consensus Camp" for the first time, successfully creating 9 new community environmental greening highlights in the county. The second edition added the "Youth Bamboo Dream Proposal", inviting young friends aged 18-45 in the county who are interested in environmental transformation to use what they have learned to engage in community service, and it received an enthusiastic response. County Magistrate Yang Wen-ke is delighted to see the rallying power of village chiefs and the passionate action of young people, jointly joining the ranks of environmental creation, and looks forward to community street corners, green living environments, green facades, and public spaces presenting a brand-new appearance under the planning of young people's new perspectives.

The Hsinchu County Transportation and Tourism Department stated that the community planner program began promoting the "Green Giant Proposal" in the 108th year of the Republic of China [2019], providing village chiefs who are unable to participate in training due to busy official duties with the opportunity, after completing a one-day consensus camp course, to apply for self-labor and self-materials funding of up to 50,000 yuan to create new highlights in their villages. This year, in addition to continuing the widely praised Green Giant Proposal, the "Youth Bamboo Dream Proposal" was also added, with courses planned on landscape design and plant care, led by neighborhood chiefs to mobilize residents and young friends to jointly participate in public affairs and take the first step in creating an environment for their hometown.

Applicants for Youth Bamboo Dream must first attend the Green Giant Consensus Camp held on March 12 in the county government briefing room (50 spots snapped up instantly). The maximum subsidy for proposals is 50,000 yuan, using a self-labor and self-materials approach to improve the community environment, such as improving messy spots in villages, greening concrete walls, and creating community corner gardens, creating community green aesthetics through the use of ecological engineering methods and local environmentally friendly materials. Bamboo Dream youth will be able to become seeds of community planners, continuing to participate in community planner program training in the future, improving their hometown environment, and creating a good life in Hsinchu County.
