"Children's Slow Food Festival" takes the stage at Guanshan Waterfront Park on April 3-4!

The first Taitung Slow Food Festival of 2021 is here! County Magistrate Rao Ching-ling invites adults and children to hold hands and come together from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 3 and 4 for a picnic and outing at Guanshan Waterfront Park, eating healthily and having fun while experiencing the local charm of slow travel in Taitung! County Magistrate Rao Ching-ling said that whether or not you are a child or have children, as long as you were once a child, you can find your own pure, original flavor at the "Taitung Slow Food Festival - Playful Table."

County Magistrate Rao Ching-ling said that the Taitung Slow Food Festival will, for the first time, move out of Taitung City to be held at Guanshan Waterfront Park. In the park, shaded by large trees and carpeted with green grass, the festival will focus on "food education" and "culinary cultural heritage," inviting culinary experts to present the most colorful dishes and recreate the childhood taste memories and the flavors of grown-up dreams in the cultures of Taitung's various ethnic groups. In warm, blossoming April, when Taitung's climate is at its most pleasant, everyone is sincerely welcome to "enjoy a spring outing in the Rift Valley and slow food in Guanshan."

Hsu Chia-hao, director of the Taitung County Agriculture Department, pointed out that during the event the county government has specially planned a rich and diverse array of hands-on cooking experiences, along with a slow market, a taste education cooking classroom, slow food workshops, slow food exercises, and a slow food mini-classroom, as well as performances by the Kanding Elementary School Samba Music and Dance Team and the Dianguang Elementary School Gajen Ensemble. Parents are invited to bring their children to the Slow Food Festival, to walk through every step from production site to dining table, awaken the sense of taste, and enjoy full nutrition. Everyone is welcome to join this spring field celebration.
