Kaohsiung pineapples sell 500,000 boxes, Mayor Chen Chi-mai thanks the public and calls for continued support
The topic of pineapple production and sales has drawn attention across Taiwan. The Kaohsiung City Government stated that Mayor Chen Chi-mai recently once again called on the public to support Kaohsiung pineapples through action, hoping all citizens would stand behind farmers, and urged businesses and the medical sector to place orders. As of now, 11,735 boxes of Kaohsiung pineapples worth 5.86 million yuan have been sold.
The Kaohsiung City Government pointed out that as of the 3rd, about 117 metric tons of Kaohsiung pineapples had been pre-ordered across Taiwan. Mayor Chen Chi-mai also specially thanked legislators Chen Po-wei, Chang Liao Wan-chien and Chuang Ching-cheng for jointly calling on Taichung's business community to order 4,200 boxes, while Kaohsiung's medical sector also ordered a total of 1,100 boxes of locally grown Kaohsiung pineapples.
In addition, various groups ordered 4,235 boxes, and members of the public spontaneously placed orders for 2,200 boxes through the "Kaohsiung First Choice E-commerce Platform" ( www.khagri.org.tw ). In total, under Mayor Chen Chi-mai's pineapple call to action, 11,735 boxes of pineapples have been sold, with a total value of about 5.86 million yuan.
The Kaohsiung City Government stated that Mayor Chen Chi-mai further emphasized that, besides fresh pineapples, Kaohsiung has many pineapple processed foods, such as the internationally certified pineapple-lychee double-heart pastry and dragon-phoenix pastry, as well as preserved pineapple that can be used in cooking, or pineapple popsicles, all of which are good group-buying treats. He hopes all of Taiwan will continue to support pineapple farmers through action, and welcomes everyone to place orders on the "Kaohsiung First Choice E-commerce Platform," so that Taiwan's farmers can live better and Kaohsiung's agriculture can thrive!
