When presiding over the county affairs meeting on the 22nd, Magistrate Lin Ming-chen said that the Nantou Lantern Festival is now in its sixth year. This year, due to the impact of a cluster infection reported in a hospital community in northern Taiwan, China, the lantern festival was postponed and only lit on February 19. Many enthusiastic people came to participate that day, making it very lively. The exhibition period continues until March 1. All the themes of the lantern festival are very beautiful and worth seeing, beautiful both day and night. Everyone is welcome to come to Nantou for a spring outing and to enjoy the lanterns.

The major lantern zones of the 2021 Nantou Lantern Festival feature diverse lantern designs. During the day, there are rich landscapes for leisurely strolling and photos, while at night they shine brilliantly, each with its own charm. The Moo Moo Farm lantern zone, made from 130 Year of the Ox figures creatively painted by elementary and middle school children in Nantou, combined with a Nezuko-style ox inspired by popular anime, is a hot spot for parents and children to take photos day and night. The flower seas are even more of a photo highlight that visitors will not miss. The 10 themed lantern zones are paired with Taiwan's first dual water-and-land water dance, featuring impressive water screens, projections, special-effect fireworks and flames, and other sound and light effects, creating an extraordinarily spectacular audiovisual feast. Every Friday and Saturday, a 3-minute magnificent fireworks display is additionally launched.
