How to control the flowering period of flowering plants?

The flowering periods of flowers are all very short, so today I will share with everyone.

How to control the flowering period of flowering plants:

Sometimes, many people hope that the flowers they cultivate will bloom as soon as possible, but often they do not have more understanding and familiarity with flower growing, so they can only view and enjoy flowers during the normal period of the flowers. In fact, in addition to normal growing conditions, we can also use physical and chemical methods to carry out abnormal cultivation of flowering plants, so that they can bloom early, late, or continuously.

1. Warming method - advancing the flowering period

Proper temperature control for flowering plants can effectively make flowering plants bloom early. For example, in the autumn harvest season, when sowing flower plants such as daisy and pansy, under winter climate conditions of 5°C, after flower bud differentiation, controlling the temperature above 15°C can make them bloom rapidly in winter. If they are not overwintered in a heated greenhouse, they generally bloom around March to April.

2. Warming method - extending the flowering period

Some flowering plants bloom under high summer temperatures, but once autumn arrives and the temperature drops, they stop blooming. If the temperature required for their blooming can be maintained, the flowering period can be extended. For example, for Aglaia odorata and white orchid, if the temperature can be maintained at around 24 degrees in September, they can bloom during the National Day period the following month.

3. Cooling method - delaying the flowering period

For some flowers that bloom in spring, they need to undergo a period of dormancy under low winter temperatures, and then they can bloom in the following spring. If low-temperature treatment is given to flowers in spring, extending the dormancy period of the flowers to delay their flowering period, for example, for spring azalea varieties, placing them indoors at around 10 degrees in winter, they bloom around mid-April; placing them at around 5-8 degrees in winter, and at around 13-16 degrees in April with some shading measures added, then they bloom in May; if before the temperature rises in spring, they are placed indoors at around 0-2 degrees, and the temperature is gradually increased by September, with a cool and ventilated environment, then they bloom in October. For example, chrysanthemums, magnolias, camellias, lotus, and hydrangeas that have already formed buds can all undergo flowering period delay treatment.

4. Chemical control method ⟧13⟧The chemical control method mainly affects plant dormancy, accelerates the growth and development of flowering plants, and advances or delays the flowering period of flowers through different treatments on flowers. For example, for hyacinth, 1000-2000 mg/kg ethephon can be used to irrigate the soil, which can promote flower blooming. Ethephon is a plant growth regulator that can promote fruit ripening, regulate plant sex transformation, and have other effects. Do not use it in excess.

Chemical control methods mainly work by regulating plant dormancy in different flowers, accelerating the growth and development of flowering plants, and advancing or delaying the flowering period of flowers. For example, for hyacinths, watering the soil with 1000-2000 mg/kg of ethephon can promote flowering. Ethephon is a type of plant growth regulator that can promote fruit ripening and regulate sex conversion in plants, among other effects. Never use it in excess.

5. Water control method

We can also control flowering by controlling the amount of water given to flowers. After some flowers grow into mature plants, properly stopping watering will make them bloom quickly. After flowering, the water supply to the plants should be reduced, otherwise after flowering the excess water will be converted into vegetative growth and they will no longer bloom.
