Yunlin Baozhong Township - Picking peanuts in Youcai Village X Chasing the five-cent train at hidden spots

I wonder what everyone's impression of Baozhong is? What makes Baozhong special? Or what's fun to do in a rural village? All these things and more are worth discussing and discovering; today, let Nomi Xiaotong chat with everyone about it!

In mid-December last year, I casually said to a community friend: We're picking peanuts today!! Do you want to come pick some too? Nomi Xiaotong agreed without a second thought, and drove over with a joyful heart (Nomi Xiaotong had never been in a field before ><)

Arriving at the agreed time at Youcai Community in Baozhong Township, Brother Cheng from the community immediately brought a pot of tea and cups, and then we headed to the field to pick peanuts!……

Since Nomi Xiaotong was going into a field for the first time, Brother Cheng from the community said: Young people who've never been in a field, won't your shoes get dirty? So he thoughtfully prepared a full set of shoe covers + gloves ^^

Hahaha, after getting into the field, Nomi Xiaotong, being a curious child, started wondering and questioning: Are there different varieties of peanuts? How are they planted? Isn't it harvested by machine?

Brother Cheng began to answer each question one by one. This harvest was an autumn harvest, and the variety planted was Tainan No. 14. The growth cycle of peanuts is about one hundred days each time, usually sown from January to March and from June to September each year, depending on the weather that year. Before harvesting, they judge whether the plants are mature, and at harvest time they first pull up one peanut plant to check and confirm the maturity, to avoid harvesting peanuts that haven't fully developed and end up with poor quality. However, most peanut planting and harvesting is now mechanized. At harvest time, you only need to harvest a 1/4 circle at the four corners of the field to leave enough space for the machinery to turn, which is much easier than before! (At this point I was looking at Brother Cheng with eyes full of admiration - so this is what a true local farmer is like)

After finishing, I followed in Brother Cheng's footsteps to a hidden spot in the alleys of Youcai Village (Taiwanese) that only locals know, which is“The fun of chasing the five-cent train ^_^"。
