How to quickly and effectively prevent and control flower pests and diseases?
When the flowers we grow have pests and diseases, what should we do? Don't worry, we can use homemade pesticides. The preparation method is quite simple, the cost is very low, and the key point is that they are environmentally friendly and safe, and can achieve very good results.
1 Garlic juice
Take 250 grams of purple-skinned garlic, add water and soak for a moment, mash it and extract the juice, dilute with water 10-20 times and spray. It can prevent and control pests such as aphids, red spiders, and scale insects, and also has a good effect on preventing and controlling powdery mildew and gray mold. Pouring this liquid into the potting soil can prevent and control nematodes, earthworms, etc.
2 Boiled chili pepper water
Take 50 grams of red dried chili peppers, add 1000 grams of clean water and boil for a quarter of an hour, filter and take the supernatant liquid to spray. It can prevent and control pests such as whiteflies, aphids, red spiders, and stink bugs.
3 Soaked tobacco leaves
Take 50 grams of tobacco leaves (if using tobacco stems or cigarettes, double the amount), add 1500 grams of clean water, soak for a day and a night, rub repeatedly with hands and then filter, then add 0.1%-0.2% neutral washing powder and spray. It can prevent and control aphids, red spiders, leafhoppers, whiteflies, thrips, stink bugs, leaf rollers and various other leaf-eating pests.
4 Boiled sweet wormwood water
Take 500 grams of sweet wormwood, add 2500 grams-4000 grams of clean water and boil for half an hour, filter and pour to irrigate. It can prevent and control underground pests such as cutworms, and can also prevent and control damping-off disease. A 10-times dilution of boiled sweet wormwood water can prevent and control aphids, red spiders, and soft-bodied pests.
5 Tea seed cake
Crush the tea seed cake, soak it in a small amount of hot water for a day and a night, filter out the residue, add water 30-40 times and spray. It can prevent and control pests such as aphids, planthoppers, and snails. Using a 40-times dilution for spraying also has a good effect on preventing and controlling rust disease. In addition, scallions, chives, ginger, onions, Sichuan pepper, as well as peach leaves, castor beans, ginkgo leaves, plantain, and datura, chopped and mashed, soaked in water several times, filtered and then sprayed or applied to the soil, can all prevent and control a variety of common pests.
6 Soapy water
Take ordinary soapy water or leftover soap scraps and thin slices, dissolve them in hot water, add water at a ratio of 1:60, and spray after cooling. It can prevent and control aphids and red spiders. If cigarette butts are soaked in the soapy water (remove the ash), besides improving the effect of preventing and controlling aphids and red spiders, it can also control thrips, whiteflies, and leafhoppers at the same time. However, soapy water cannot be used for a long time, otherwise it will cause the potting soil to become alkaline.
7 Washing powder
It has a relatively strong contact-killing effect on pests. The washing powder solution can dissolve the waxy layer on the surface of pests and penetrate into their bodies, blocking the stomata on the pest surface and causing them to suffocate to death. Usage: a 200-300 times dilution can prevent and control leafhoppers. A 600-800 times dilution can prevent and control red spiders, aphids, and scale insects. Neutral washing powder should be selected for use.
8 Sichuan pepper powder and vinegar
Take 100 grams of Sichuan pepper, add 3 kg of water and boil, and spray after cooling to prevent and control scale insects.
Dilute bottled vinegar with water 5-6 times and spray once every 3 days to prevent and control scale insects.
