What are the precautions for growing flowers in a greenhouse?
Many people choose to grow greenhouse flowers, but greenhouse flowers are not that easy to grow. Are there any things to pay attention to when planting them? Below, the editor will share with everyone.
Greenhouse flowers must be protected from freezing damage. For flowers that are not cold-tolerant, straw curtains should be added at night or small tunnels should be placed inside the greenhouse; a water storage pool can also be dug every few meters in the center of the greenhouse to use the pool for heat preservation; or some plant ash can be scattered on the ground, which generally can raise the ground temperature by 1°C-2°C.
Greenhouse flowers must be protected from moisture damage. During long periods of sealing and many rainy and snowy days, drainage ditches should be opened outside the greenhouse to reduce soil moisture. In addition, some plant ash can be scattered on the surface of pots or the ground to absorb heat and increase temperature, and absorb moisture and reduce humidity. At the same time, attention should be paid to tightening the greenhouse film to strictly prevent water accumulation and leakage on the roof of the greenhouse.
Greenhouse flowers must be protected from gas damage. Fully decomposed organic fertilizer should be applied inside the greenhouse, and the amount of chemical fertilizer applied should be reduced as much as possible. On sunny and windless days, ventilation should be carried out promptly to discharge harmful gases from the greenhouse.
Greenhouse flowers must be protected from diseases. The air humidity in the greenhouse is high, so special attention should be paid to preventing diseases such as powdery mildew, black spot, and anthracnose. For anthracnose, 75% chlorothalonil 500-fold solution can be sprayed at the early stage of the disease for control; for powdery mildew, 1:1:140 equal-strength Bordeaux mixture can be sprayed for control; for black spot, 70% thiophanate-methyl 1000-fold solution can be sprayed for control. When using pesticides in the greenhouse, avoid the high-temperature period at noon on sunny days and the flowering period.
