Are water-cultured flowers the same as hydroponic flowers?

Many friends think that water-cultured flowers and hydroponic flowers are the same, but here is a detailed introduction. Nowadays, some water-cultured and hydroponic flowers are favored by most people because they are fresh, eco-friendly, easy to care for, and easy to combine. Both water culture and hydroponics are forms of soilless cultivation, both have special planting pots, and you can also choose your favorite containers for planting, but the two differ clearly in other respects.

Characteristics of water-cultured flowers:

Water-cultured flowers generally have enlarged bulbs that store abundant nutrients, and their growth and flowering mainly rely on the nutrients stored in themselves. When planting, you only need to soak the roots in clean water to fix them in place, with no need to supply nutrients. Flowers suitable for water culture mainly include narcissus, tulips, hyacinths, lucky bamboo, and so on. To make water-cultured flowers grow luxuriantly and bloom beautifully, the key is to choose fully developed bulbs to meet the continuous needs of flower growth; next is to change the water frequently, insisting on changing the water once every two to three days (change the water once every 7 days to 10 days for lucky bamboo), to maintain sufficient nitrogen content in the water and improve root activity; and to maintain sufficient sunlight.

Characteristics of hydroponic flowers:

Hydroponic flowers are plants whose roots are fixed on the cover plate or floating board of a flower pot, with the roots soaked in water, and the water must be equipped with reasonable inorganic nutrients. Therefore, hydroponics for flowers is also called nutrient solution culture. The characteristic of hydroponic flowers is strong resistance to waterlogging, and the habits and internal structure of the plants are suitable for normal growth in water. At present, the main varieties of hydroponic flowers include clivia, spider plant, crab claw orchid, Brazilian wood, evergreen, clustered taro, Monstera deliciosa, gem flower, wandering jew, mother of thousands, and so on.

After reading the above analysis, we have the answer: water-cultured flowers and hydroponic flowers are not the same.
