Promoting Industry Digital Transformation: T Ambassador Training Kicks Off

To accelerate industry digital transformation, the Ministry of Economic Affairs is promoting the "Digital Youth Transformation Seed Empowerment Program" (abbreviated as the T Ambassador Program). After 2 months of intensive interviews and selection, the first cohort's opening ceremony was held on December 14 of this year (2020) at the northern responding enterprise Microsoft Taiwan Corporation and the central responding enterprise Taichung Precision Machinery Plant Co., Ltd. The scene was filled with the passion and vitality of young people. Minister of Science and Technology and Deputy Convener of the Executive Yuan Science and Technology Advisory Group Wu Cheng-chung, Executive Yuan Minister without Portfolio Tang Feng, and Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Affairs Chen Yi-ling jointly supported via live broadcast connection between the two locations, demonstrating the high importance attached to and encouragement for the T Ambassadors.

The T Ambassador Program was devised by the Executive Yuan Science and Technology Advisory Group Office to accelerate the digital transformation of the cloud-generation industry, and to study talent cultivation development directions. It cultivates young students who have just stepped out of campus to become seeds of industry digital transformation, assisting industries in carrying out digital transformation arrangements, developing innovative business models, and enhancing industry competitiveness. Promoted by the Small and Medium Enterprise Administration of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, with hands-on practice in digital transformation enterprise fields as its main appeal, participating youth must not only pass interview selection, but also pass aptitude and vocational competency assessments. Then, through industry mentors with international enterprise management experience, they are guided to think about and plan the directions and key tasks of enterprise digital transformation. Through 2-week intensive training and 24-week hands-on implementation of enterprise digital transformation plans launched separately in the four regions of northern, central, southern, and eastern Taiwan, young people not only accumulate digital transformation capacity, but also combine it with industry knowledge, skills, and practical problems. At the same time, during the training period they interact highly with the core decision-making circle of enterprise digital transformation. Currently, more than 2,000 people are competing for the opportunity to become T Ambassadors.

The T Ambassador Program mainly recruits college students about to graduate (graduating before June 2021, and must provide a graduation certificate before completing training) or unemployed individuals who have graduated within the past 3 years (graduated after January 1, 2017).
