Tainan Mayor Attends Liuying District Farmers' Association Milk Festival and Centennial Celebration of New Building Completion

The 100th anniversary celebration of the founding of the Liuying District Farmers' Association in Tainan City and the completion of its new building, along with the Milk Festival industry event, will take place on the 12th. The event includes unlimited orange juice, a display and sale of premium agricultural products from young farmers, free milk tasting, and an invitation to the Liuqiu District Fishermen's Association to offer a limited quantity of fresh fish for tasting. Mayor Huang Wei-che said that a century-old enterprise is no simple feat, and that the Liuying Farmers' Association has withstood a hundred years of tests and was able to build a new building, symbolizing that its operations will reach another peak.

Hsieh Yao-ching, Director-General of the Tainan City Agriculture Bureau, pointed out that the Liuying area is an important birthplace of dairy farming. Because milk has a short shelf life, in recent years the Liuying District Farmers' Association has used milk to develop various products to extend its shelf life, such as Tian Mama's steamed buns and mantou and various milk stick snacks, opening a new chapter for Liuying's dairy industry.

Chen You-hsin, Secretary-General of the Liuying District Farmers' Association, said that this Milk Festival coincides with the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Liuying District Farmers' Association and the completion of the new building, making the event even more meaningful, with more diverse and richer content. Over the past 100 years, farmers have followed the Farmers' Association, and the Farmers' Association has worked alongside farmers. She expressed the hope that the Liuying District Farmers' Association will strive toward many more 100 years in the future.

The Tainan City Agriculture Bureau pointed out that this Milk Festival event combines agriculture, fisheries, and livestock. In addition to milk and orange juice tasting, fresh fish tasting, a display and sale of quality agricultural products from young farmers, and various performances by street artists, there will also be a 3D interactive game competition. People from all over the country are welcome to come to Liuying on the 12th to experience a happy milk holiday and to taste the delicious local agricultural products and food of Liuying.
