The Taoyuan Mesona Flower Festival event is a spectacular hit, with creative cuisine combined with a fashion show

Taoyuan Mayor Cheng Wen-tsan went to Yangmei District yesterday (the 29th) in the afternoon to attend the "2020 Taoyuan Mesona Flower Festival - Fashion Convergence" event. Mayor Cheng Wen-tsan said that the theme of the 2020 Taoyuan Mesona Flower Festival is "Fashion Agriculture," and Guo Ran Hui and Vanung University were specially invited to collaborate across fields, bringing mesona creative cuisine and a fashion show. Mayor Cheng Wen-tsan also personally demonstrated "mesona risotto" cooking and invited residents and friends to explore the charm of the Mesona Flower Festival together.

Mayor Cheng Wen-tsan mentioned that the 2020 Taoyuan Mesona Flower Festival runs from now until December 13, with exciting events launched every week and overwhelming popularity! This year (the 109th year of the Republic of China) the Taoyuan Mesona Flower Festival is grandly held in the Yangmei Leisure Agriculture Area, with a 5.8-hectare purple mesona flower sea and more than 125,000 mesona flowers planted, plus 2 hectares of red, pink, and white cosmo flower fields around the exhibition area as an accent, a breathtaking sight. The public is welcome to experience outdoor life and the charm of agricultural tourism.

Mayor Cheng Wen-tsan also said that Taoyuan is actively developing its leisure agriculture area policy. At present, 10 leisure agriculture areas and more than 100 tourist farms have been designated, second only to Yilan and Miaoli and third in the country. The city government has also planned many agricultural feature marketing activities, hoping to encourage the public to go outdoors and enjoy natural life.

Also attending the event were Legislator Huang Shih-chieh, City Councilor Cheng Shu-fang, Deputy Secretary-General of the City Government Chiou Chun-ming, Director-General of the Agriculture Bureau Kuo Cheng-chuan, Yangmei District Chief Lo Kuo-yu, and Yangmei District Farmers' Association General Manager Chou Tsung-wei, among others.
