Take a journey through Alice's Adventures in Wonderland! Xinshe Flower Sea and Taichung International Flower Carpet Festival kick off on the 14th

The 2020 Xinshe Flower Sea and Taichung International Flower Carpet Festival will grandly kick off from November 14 to December 6. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Taichung International Flower Carpet Festival, with the theme "Alice's Floral Wonderland Adventure," using flowers to create a large-scale maze that lets visitors immerse themselves and wander through Alice's dreamlike wonderland. Taichung Deputy Mayor Linghu Rongda said that this year's Flower Carpet Festival covers 1.8 hectares, uses 10 varieties of flowers, and is created with nearly 250,000 plants and flowers. Visitors are welcome to come to Xinshe for a fantastical floral wonderland adventure.

On the 9th, the Taichung City Government held the "2020 Taichung International Flower Carpet Festival Press Conference" at the Taiwan Boulevard Civic Building. This year, the Xinshe Flower Sea and the Taichung International Flower Carpet Festival enter their 15th and 10th anniversaries respectively. The most eye-catching feature is the 10-meter-tall main flower carpet at the Flower Carpet Festival, the Heart of Courage, which recreates the classic scene of Alice bravely confronting the Queen of Hearts surrounded by playing card soldiers; characters from the fairy tale such as the Cheshire Cat, the White Rabbit hurrying with a pocket watch, and the Mad Hatter will also be presented in the exhibition area.

Deputy Mayor Linghu Rongda pointed out that the Flower Carpet Festival's exhibition period spans 4 weekends for a total of 23 days, and it is estimated that 2 million visits will be made from all over Taiwan. The city government has also planned two shuttle lines, the Fengyuan Line and the Taiyuan Line, and on holidays will add the Dongshi Line and the Cherry Blossom Road Line, for a total of four free shuttle routes. Visitors are advised to take the Taiwan Railways to Fengyuan Station and transfer to a shuttle, or park their vehicles at parking lots such as Taiyuan, Dakeng Jingbuku, and Zhongxingling, then transfer to nearby free shuttle buses to the exhibition area.

The Taichung City Tourism and Travel Bureau reminds the public that, in cooperation with epidemic prevention measures, those entering the Flower Carpet Festival exhibition area must wear masks at all times and have their temperature measured. Those with fever symptoms or not wearing masks will be politely refused entry; the Tourism and Travel Bureau has also marked safe social distancing indicators at popular photo spots so that visitors can tour the exhibition area's scenery with peace of mind.
