The coffee charm of the world champion coffee "Songyue Coffee" also deeply attracted culinary professionals. Renowned French chef Andy Chen, who once worked at a Michelin restaurant abroad, specially chose the evening of the 3rd at Songyue Coffee Estate, in front of a three-sided courtyard at an altitude of 1,200 m, combining it with Gukeng's top local specialty "Perseus Chicken" to feature the world's number one champion coffee in dishes. Yunlin County Magistrate Chang Li-shan, Deputy Magistrate Hsieh Shu-ya, County Government Chief Advisor Chang Ching-liang, General Secretary of the Industrial Development and Investment Promotion Committee Hsu Yu-chen, Director-General of the Agriculture Department Wei Sheng-te, Director-General of the Cultural Affairs and Tourism Department Chen Pi-chun, Director-General of the News Department Liao Shu-ling, Gukeng Township Chief Shen Sheng-teng, and coffee expert and owner of Songyue Coffee Estate Guo Zhang-sheng together kicked off the "2020 Taiwan Coffee Festival".
County Magistrate Chang Li-shan said that this year's "2020 Taiwan Coffee Festival" opens in November, with lively activities every weekend holiday. In particular, Gukeng is full of highlights this year, combining music, coffee cultural and creative products, food, camping and beautiful scenery. At a time when the pandemic makes overseas travel impossible and domestic travel is prevalent, arranging a "coffee vacation" is most suitable! Moreover, this "2020 Taiwan Coffee Festival" is open into the night for the first time, including 11/21 and 11/28 both open until 8 p.m. Visitors coming before this time can spend an unforgettable coffee vacation accompanied by lights and the starry sky. The public is also welcome to stay a night in Gukeng, because there is also Gukeng's secret spot "Yunling Hill", where you can view a stunning 360-degree sea of clouds without any blind spots and a beautiful sunrise; you can also visit the "Wuyuan Liangjiao" and the secret bamboo forest, which are like Japan's Arashiyama, and are photo spots not to be missed.
In addition, in response to the pandemic, domestic travel continues to receive increased support. The Ministry of Transportation and Communications' reassuring travel subsidy will end at the end of October. To keep the momentum going, the Central Taiwan Tourism Industry Alliance Association launched a private-sector version of the "Reassuring Travel 2.0" plan, calling on 500 businesses across Taiwan to provide 500 yuan accommodation discount vouchers, and Gukeng, Yunlin's "2020 Taiwan Coffee Festival" will be the first to respond, which is also expected to bring more crowds to this coffee festival.
