Pingtung Abounds with Floral Fragrance in Xinwei: A Romantic Flower Field Table Feast

Pingtung County and Xinwei Community of Yanpu Township held the "Rural Table Industry Event" on the 20th in the magnolia flower fields of Yanpu Township. Pingtung County Magistrate Pan Meng-an, Legislator Chou Chun-mi, Pingtung County Councilor Cheng Shuang-chuan, and community team members, among others, joined community experts to experience stories of rural life, strolling through fields of butterfly ginger, savoring the elegant fragrance of butterfly ginger honey, and, beneath magnolia flower fields illuminated by romantic lights, tasting a feast of flowers.

Pingtung County Magistrate Pan Meng-an stated that in recent years, the county government's community guidance strategy has focused on upgrading industrial planning and design and enhancing the diversity of industrial promotion activities, breaking established impressions of rural products. Xinwei Community in Yanpu Township is one of the outstanding top-tier communities. To help more people know and understand the industrial story of this floral community, under the guidance of the Rural Regeneration Plan and related programs, the community team not only developed and produced a related series of care and conditioning products, but community mothers also used the local butterfly ginger as an ingredient to develop products such as butterfly ginger fish balls, butterfly ginger sausages, and butterfly ginger salted duck eggs. This year, for the first time, they combined a tour experience and a romantic table event to build awareness of the floral community.

The Rural Regeneration Project Promotion Office of the Pingtung County Department of Urban and Rural Development stated that the county government actively encourages and guides the development of local industrial characteristics in communities, and Pingtung's communities are gradually gaining prominence nationwide. The county government will hold the "2020 Pingtung Community Industry Expo" from October 9-11, 109th year of the Republic of China, at Pingtung Park.
