Yunlin County - Joins Hands with Industry to Promote Industrial Boiler Improvement

To reduce air pollution emissions from industrial boilers, Yunlin County - since 107 has actively sought subsidy funding from the Ministry of Economic Affairs, hoping to subsidize factories in Yunlin County to retrofit or replace boiler equipment, switching to low-pollution fuels (natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas or diesel) to replace the use of traditional fuel oil or coal, so as to reduce air pollutant emissions from boilers, help industry comply with environmental regulations, achieve boiler air pollution reduction targets, and improve air quality. In 107, Yunlin County - subsidized a total of 16 industrial boiler improvements, with total approved subsidy funding reaching 5,694,201 yuan, and in 108, 121 industrial boiler improvements, with total approved subsidy funding reaching 50,790,820 yuan.

Yunlin County Magistrate Chang Li-shan stated that economic development and environmental protection are not mutually exclusive and can coexist and prosper together. To accelerate air quality improvement and promote air pollution reduction through source reduction, the current focus of implementation is on industrial zone boilers using natural gas or liquefied petroleum gas as fuel. Among them, Yunlin Science and Technology Industrial Park has reached 93%, and Douliu Industrial Park has 55%. It is hoped that through public-private cooperation, improvements will continue to be enhanced.

Director Li Chun-hsing of the Construction Department stated that the Ministry of Economic Affairs amended the "Ministry of Economic Affairs Subsidy Guidelines for Municipalities and Counties - Handling Industrial Boiler Improvement Operations" in February 109, extending the subsidy period to this year. Yunlin County - continued to seek and obtained approval from the Ministry of Economic Affairs for a subsidy quota of 30 industrial boiler improvements for the 109 fiscal year, with a subsidy amount of 21 million yuan.
