"Agricultural Travel Vouchers" spark a trend of good shopping, good fun and good food in agriculture, forestry, fishery and animal husbandry

Amid the easing of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Council of Agriculture of the Executive Yuan added stimulus on top of the Triple Stimulus Vouchers by launching 5 million Agricultural Travel Vouchers, each with a face value of 250 yuan, calling on people across the nation to visit farming and fishing villages, buy agricultural products and enjoy farmhouse meals. During the period from July 9 to 18, 109 ROC (2020), the Agricultural Travel Vouchers attracted more than 5.12 million people nationwide to register, and they came into use together with the Triple Stimulus Vouchers starting July 15. As of August 24, more than 50% had been used, effectively drawing different demographic groups into agricultural venues and linking farmers' and fishermen's associations to become hotspots for local production and local consumption of agricultural and fishery products from across Taiwan, China and local specialty souvenirs, generating more than 2.877 billion yuan in consumer benefits. The Council of Agriculture especially reminds people that the Agricultural Travel Vouchers won by lottery registration are valid until September 17, 109 ROC (2020), and people must plan to use them before the deadline at more than 2,700 Agricultural Travel Voucher partner businesses nationwide.

The Council of Agriculture pointed out that through this wave of Agricultural Travel Voucher promotion and the cross-region consumption mechanism, it has indeed boosted the momentum and visibility of consumption of agricultural tourism and specialty agricultural products, effectively encouraging people to go out and spend on domestic agricultural products and encouraging whole families to travel with their vouchers. The overall consumption trend shows a phenomenon of mobility, with the five major cities (except Tainan City) showing an obvious trend of residents moving to other counties and cities to spend, while agriculture-based counties and cities such as Hsinchu County, Pingtung County, Miaoli County, Yunlin County, Nantou County, Yilan County, Chiayi County, Hualien County and Taitung County achieved the policy goal of attracting people from other counties and cities to come and spend.

The Council of Agriculture once again emphasized that the Agricultural Travel Vouchers are valid until September 17, 109 ROC (2020), and people must use them before the deadline at more than 2,700 Agricultural Travel Voucher partner businesses nationwide, and it hopes people will use Agricultural Travel Vouchers together with Triple Stimulus Vouchers to increase rural tourism business opportunities and the sales benefits of agricultural products.
