Yunlin County Guides the Establishment of the Only Laying Hen Production and Marketing Group in Its Jurisdiction

To help livestock farmers form Team Yunlin, Yunlin County has actively guided agricultural groups in establishing production and marketing groups. At present, Yunlin has 638 production and marketing groups with 13,323 members, ranking among the top in the country. This year (2020), it guided the establishment of Yunlin County's only laying hen production and marketing group. On the 25th, County Magistrate Zhang Lishan specially invited cadres of the Yunlin County Poultry Association to a discussion and congratulated them on the establishment of the laying hen production and marketing group.

County Magistrate Zhang Lishan stated that Yunlin County's laying hen industry has about 50 farming households, raising about 680,000 laying hens, and is still in a stage of development. This year, through the persistent efforts of Zhang Zhenning, director of the Yunlin County Poultry Association, and Lin Hongmao, head of the laying hen section, the only laying hen production and marketing group currently in Yunlin County was organized. At the initial stage of establishment, 21 members joined, and the total farming scale of the group's members reached as high as 560,000 hens, which is truly remarkable and worthy of encouragement. It is also hoped that through the establishment of the production and marketing group, a platform for poultry farmers will be created to assist egg production and marketing, while also sharing experience and information, so that the members' income can become more stable and grow.

Production and marketing groups are the most basic units for agriculture to wage organizational warfare and jointly plan production and sales. In accordance with the "Regulations for the Establishment and Guidance of Agricultural Production and Marketing Groups" promulgated by the central government, Yunlin County has guided farmers, forestry, fishery and livestock operators in establishing production and marketing groups. To date, it has guided the establishment of 638 groups in total, with 13,323 members, ranking among the top in the country.

Wei Shengde, Director of the Yunlin County Agriculture Department, pointed out that the county government uses the "Yunlin Good Products" brand image to help farmers form Team Yunlin. For products selected as Yunlin Good Products, the county government will grant the use of the "Yunlin Good Products" label, and through guidance and marketing activities will successively place the products on major sales channels and expand export markets. Farmers, forestry, fishery and livestock operators within the jurisdiction are encouraged to apply enthusiastically, so that the county government can assist with marketing and work together with farmers to boost the economy.
