Taiwan International Balloon Festival 10th Anniversary: The Liveliest Sky Birthday PARTY
"Happy birthday to the Taiwan balloon and today's birthday stars at the venue." The most colorful, most dreamy and liveliest sky birthday PARTY of this summer - the Taiwan International Balloon Festival kicked off grandly on the evening of the 16th at Luye Highland. Amid balloon glow shows, laser beams, a rock birthday medley and the cheers of visitors, a total of 14 balloons celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Taiwan International Balloon Festival at Luye Highland, leaving the most beautiful and stunning memories for the visitors who took part. About 50,000 visitors witnessed the touching moment on site, making it truly feel like the grandest outdoor birthday party.
During the balloon birthday party glow music show, the event also opened for the first time with a "balloon burner fire parade around the field." The procession was led by Taitung County Magistrate April Yao, together with the chief flight commander of the past 10 years and this year's newly appointed ground crew chief, leading 14 balloon ground crew vehicles. As the trucks carrying balloon baskets moved along, their burners shot giant flames as high as 4 to 5 m, and the huge sound and heat of the fire could be felt all around. This made the audience feel that heat and shock right from the start of the glow music concert, bringing the atmosphere to its peak at the very beginning, astonishing all 50,000 visitors and getting them to wave their phone flashlights on the host's cue.
For the highlight balloon glow music show, the event specially invited this year's first-ever appearance of the "Birthday Cake Balloon" from Brazil to take the leading role, flanked by twin heart balloons also from Brazil and Taiwan, symbolizing hearts reflecting each other and highlighting the positive energy that balloons convey. Magistrate April Yao also sang "Happy Birthday" with everyone and presented gifts to the lucky people at the venue whose birthdays fell on August 16. It is worth mentioning that in this birthday party, unlike the presentation of other glow music concerts, 3 of the 14 balloons rose 50 m into the air and performed the balloon glow show by firing their burners in the night sky in a "tethered mode," creating a three-dimensional layered effect for the glow show that was especially brilliant and eye-catching.
