2020 Yunlin Youth Farmers Lead the Way - Youth Farmers Take the Stage: Top City Taichung Marketing Market Opens

In Yunlin County, there is a group of young friends who have personally devoted themselves to agriculture out of love and care for Taiwan's agriculture and land. They work quietly for Taiwan's agriculture, holding fast to a love for their hometown land, and with the passion and drive of young people, they have injected a fresh vitality into Taiwan's agriculture. To this end, Yunlin County specially held the "2020 Yunlin Youth Farmers Lead the Way - Youth Farmers Take the Stage" youth farmer market exhibition and sale on August 16 at the 1F Fashion Plaza of Top City Taichung, using the practical approach of on-site sales to help young farmers from Yunlin County better understand the dynamics of urban consumer groups, and also hoping to help young farmers get closer to and understand the demands of the urban market.

County Magistrate Chang Li-shan stated that in recent years, more and more young people who left home to work hard have chosen to return to their hometowns to take up farming. In order for these aspiring young people not to struggle alone, Yunlin County has strengthened the promotion of related policies and facilitation measures to accompany young farmers. In addition to providing channels for young farmers' self-empowerment, the county government has also created the "Yunlin Good Products" brand, selecting excellent related products from Yunlin County to be placed on this sales platform, fully matching and expanding the development of sales channels, and further taking into account the needs of young farmers by increasing the supply of diverse guidance resources, so that young farmers can take root and develop in rural areas, laying the foundation for sustainable agricultural management. It is also hoped that this can expand the appeal for Yunlin young people who left home to work hard to return to their hometowns and regain a sense of belonging, so as to implement the policy of local revitalization.

Wei Sheng-te of the Yunlin County Agriculture Department stated that through the expertise of various young farmers and different product categories forming an alliance front, diversified agricultural management is created, the value of rural brands is upgraded and optimized, and ultimately international market integration is achieved to promote multi-faceted exchanges.
