Which flowers are most suitable for care during the Spring Festival?

When winter arrives and temperatures drop, many flowers lose their luster as well. Gardening enthusiasts cannot help but ask, which flowers are suitable for care during the Spring Festival? What I would like to introduce to you today is a common flower in our daily lives - the kalanchoe (Kalanchoe blossfeldiana). The kalanchoe generally blooms from February to May, close to Christmas and the Spring Festival. After blooming, the flowers cluster into dense balls with rich colors, making it very suitable for care during the holidays and full of a festive atmosphere. It is a very eye-catching indoor potted flower, but caring for kalanchoe well is no simple matter - a little carelessness can easily lead to root rot.
The root system of the kalanchoe is a fleshy root, and if watering is slightly careless, root rot occurs very easily, let alone flowering. At this point, we can add a little pine needle to the bottom of the pot to effectively promote the kalanchoe to bloom.
1. Pine needles
After autumn, there are plenty of pine needles, and they are very easy to obtain under pine trees. We need to dig open the surface layer of pine needles and dig out the grayish-black pine needles at the bottom to use. Pine needles like these are basically fully decomposed. Bring them home, expose them to the sun, or disinfect them with carbendazim, and they can be used directly.
Pine needles have very strong water permeability and air permeability. Placing them at the bottom of the kalanchoe pot allows excess water to drain out quickly and can effectively prevent root rot in kalanchoe.
2. Ensure even light exposure
The light for kalanchoe is relatively easy to control. Provide appropriate shade in summer, and normal light exposure in other seasons is fine. To make the kalanchoe bloom evenly, the pot needs to be rotated regularly so that it receives light evenly.
3. Ensure sufficient nutrients
Generally, after the Frost's Descent solar term in autumn comes the flower bud differentiation period for kalanchoe. At this time, sufficient nutrients need to be ensured, and adequate fertilizer needs to be supplemented, generally mainly phosphorus and potassium fertilizer. Some fertilizer such as monopotassium phosphate can be used appropriately to promote flower bud differentiation.
