Mayor Cheng Wen-tsan said that the 2020 Taoyuan Lotus Season will run from July 5 to August 30, with the international lotus garden as its theme. Six farms in the Lianhuayuan Leisure Agriculture Area will each create different international photo spots in line with the event theme, including the French-style "Monet's Garden," the Japanese-style "Lin Family Old House," the "Kangzhuang Lotus Garden" modeled on the giant water lily fields of the Amazon rainforest in Brazil, the "Hezhu Farm" modeled on Thailand's red lotus floating market, the "Lianhe Garden" modeled on the lotus pond of West Lake in Hanoi, Vietnam, the "Qinglin Farm" modeled on Bali, Indonesia, and the "Lotus Story House," which resembles Lake Monnet in Melbourne, Australia. Visitors are expected to enjoy the fun of activities after the pandemic restrictions were lifted in the hot summer through Taoyuan's lotus season with its exotic charm.

Mayor Cheng Wen-tsan pointed out that in addition to lotus gardens showcasing the cultural charm of different countries, this year (the 109th year of the Republic of China), the city government has cooperated with Xiangbin Group's "Guoranhui" restaurant to jointly launch 9 lotus dishes starting July 1, showcasing diverse ways of using lotus ingredients. In addition, considering that the current pandemic has eased, farm experience activities and small community trips have also been launched, and weekend special events have resumed, kicking off with the "Flower Tour of the World International Lotus Garden" on July 5 and closing with the finale "Hakka Sound Waves Concert" on August 30.
