The 2020 Tainan International Mango Festival - Jin Ai Nanhua has kicked off!
The Nanhua District Office of Tainan City held the 2020 Taiwan Mango Season - Tainan International Mango Festival - Jin Ai Nanhua at Nanhua Tianhou Temple yesterday (the 28th). The small-farmer products sold at the on-site market all sold out, and every participating visitor went home fully loaded, embodying happy outings, earnest fruit picking, joyful shopping, and worry-free travel.
On the day of the event, the main stage program opened with the Nanhua Elementary School Taigu Drum Team, followed by performances by the Nanhua Elementary School Martial Arts Team, the Beiliao Elementary School String Orchestra, and the Beiliao Community Dance Performance, offering the highest blessings for this year's Nanhua Mango Festival. The on-site "Jin Ai Nanhua Market" brought together the Nanhua District Farmers' Association, local small farmers, new residents, and community development associations to jointly participate in this agricultural specialty product marketing event. Among them was also a booth experience set up by Nanhua Elementary School. Through this mango festival, the cooperation between the authorities and the local community, along with the educational outreach linking industry and academia, allows more people to come to know Nanhua's Irwin mangoes through the International Mango Festival, marketing Nanhua's high-quality local agricultural specialty products.
Tainan City Mayor Huang Wei-che pointed out that the sweetness of mangoes can only be known by tasting them, and the beauty of a place can only be experienced by walking through it. The two main mini-tour themes launched by Nanhua this time, the "shuttle bus itinerary" and the "independent travel itinerary," range from learning about mango packing and grading, dried mango baking, fruit-picking fun and agri-food experiences, cultural temple heritage, Nanhua's landscape features, to the Wushan macaque ecological conservation environment, allowing participants to visit in person, experience in depth, and understand Nanhua, and to travel with peace of mind and buy mangoes with confidence.
