Preparation of Nutrient Solution for Hydroponic Flowers

Solution A: 125 g calcium nitrate, 12 g ferrous sulfate + Solution B: 37 g magnesium sulfate, 28 g ammonium dihydrogen phosphate, 41 g potassium nitrate, 0.6 g boric acid, 0.4 g manganese sulfate, 0.004 g copper sulfate, 0.004 g zinc sulfate; add 1 kg water to each. You can also buy flower fertilizer or compound fertilizer, dissolve it, and drip it into the water.

Standard Preparation

Materials Needed

Solution A: 125 g calcium nitrate, 12 g ferrous sulfate. Add the above to 1 kg water.

Solution B: 37 g magnesium sulfate; 28 g ammonium dihydrogen phosphate; 41 g potassium nitrate; 0.6 g boric acid; 0.4 g manganese sulfate; 0.004 g copper sulfate; 0.004 g zinc sulfate. Add the above to 1 kg water.

Preparation Process

1. Weigh out each fertilizer separately and place them in a clean container or plastic film bag, or on a plastic film bag spread flat on the ground, until ready to use.

2. When mixing and dissolving the fertilizers, strictly pay attention to the order. Calcium nitrate must not be mixed with fertilizers other than potassium nitrate, such as sulfate types like magnesium sulfate, or ammonium dihydrogen phosphate, so as to avoid calcium precipitation.

3. For the dissolution order of the fertilizer in tank A, first use warm water to dissolve the ferrous sulfate, then dissolve the calcium nitrate, adding water while stirring until evenly dissolved; for tank B, first dissolve the magnesium sulfate, then add the ammonium dihydrogen phosphate and potassium nitrate in sequence, add water and stir until completely dissolved, dissolve the boric acid in warm water and add it, then add the remaining trace element fertilizers separately. Stir each of the two liquid tanks A and B evenly and set aside.

4. When using the nutrient solution, first take 10 ml of the tank A stock solution and dissolve it in 1 kg water, then add the tank B stock solution to this 1 kg water, and it is ready to use.

Simple Preparation Method

Some flower enthusiasts may already feel dizzy seeing so many numbers and types of fertilizers. Don't worry, netizens have also shared their own experience, so you might as well give it a try.

High-Efficiency Flower Fertilizer Method

Buy a packet of high-efficiency flower fertilizer at the flower market, add water and let it clarify, then pour it into a large bottle. Be careful not to pour too much into the hydroponic setup; adding just a few drops to the plants each time is enough.

Compound Fertilizer Preparation Method

Each time you change the water for hydroponic plants, you can add 4 or 5 granules of compound fertilizer to the water. Netizens have personally tested it and found the effect quite good.

Of course, the specific amount to use still depends on the size of the plant and the size of the flowerpot. Be sure to remember that when preparing nutrient solution, do not use metal containers; glass, ceramic, and similar vessels can be used.
