How to care for soilless-cultured flowers so they grow well

(1) Control the nutrient solution temperature. According to the requirements of different flower species, ensure a suitable solution temperature for these flowers so that they grow well. Hydroponic flowers generally require a room temperature above 5°C, with a temperature below 30°C being suitable, and they must not be exposed to direct sunlight, to prevent the solution temperature from getting too high and damaging the roots.
(2) Pay attention to watering. For substrate-cultured flowers, the principle for replenishing water is to water when the surface substrate has dried to a depth of 2 cm. Generally, during the growing period, water once a week, with the amount each time determined by the size of the plant; for example, for a sun-loving flower with a pot inner diameter of 20 cm, 100 ml of water can be given each time. In winter or during the summer dormant period, water once every half month or once a month. For routine water replenishment, tap water can still be used.
(3) Pay attention to replenishing the nutrient solution at the right time. Add it appropriately according to the instructions for each nutrient solution. Small seedlings are generally given nutrient solution once every 15-20 days; large seedlings are generally given nutrient solution once every 7-15 days. In winter or during the dormant period, apply once a month. The amount applied each time for small seedlings should be less than for large seedlings; for shade-tolerant flowers, the amount should be reduced as appropriate.
(4) Pay attention to repotting. When the plant grows too large, it should be repotted, and when repotting, the plant's root system should be pruned, generally removing about 1/3, as this helps new roots grow, and the substrate can also be partially or completely replaced with new substrate.
