To help Shalun become a demonstration site for Asia's smart green energy sustainable eco-city, NCKU's "Shalun Smart Industry Innovation Alliance" held its founding conference yesterday (the 10th) at NCKU in Tainan. Vice Premier of the Executive Yuan Chen Chi-mai and Tainan Mayor Huang Wei-che personally attended the venue to offer congratulations, hoping that under the operation of the Shalun Smart Industry Innovation Alliance, which combines industry, government, academia and research, more major domestic and international companies will be attracted to set up operations, driving the development of the technology industry and economy of southern Tainan.

Vice Premier Chen Chi-mai expressed affirmation and recognition for the establishment of the Shalun Smart Industry Innovation Alliance, thanking NCKU for being willing to take the lead and serve in the preparatory and executive roles. He hoped that through the alliance's collective wisdom, more top private startup companies would be attracted to set up operations in the Shalun Green Energy Science City. He also promised on behalf of the central government that it would fully support NCKU and Tainan City, providing the follow-up assistance needed so that the operation of the Shalun Smart Industry Innovation Alliance can proceed smoothly.

The Shalun Smart Industry Innovation Alliance emphasized the co-construction of universities, industry, and government. About 70 senior representatives from industry, government, academia and research gathered at the founding conference to jointly discuss the future prospects of the Shalun Green Energy Science City. At the meeting, professors and experts from various fields at NCKU engaged in exchanges and discussions with enterprises on four major topics: "circular economy," "carbon reduction and green energy," "smart healthcare," and "future transportation."

NCKU stated that the establishment of an international smart technology site and a circular ecological town is the main purpose of founding the "Shalun Smart Industry Innovation Alliance." After the founding conference, it will also consult alumni enterprises for their opinions, effectively form industry groups, and then further match industry-academia resources with local government through action forums or working meetings. It is believed that in the future it will be the best platform for bridging government, schools and industry.
