Footnote Shuangxi Placemaking Yuanyuan Rice Pack: Rounding out a fateful bond with a friendly Earth

The pandemic has not yet fully subsided, and people are not quite willing to dine together, so many restaurants have been transforming and developing economical boxed meals, with the stay-at-home economy becoming mainstream. But how can you eat both deliciously and with peace of mind? Recently, the local placemaking organization Footnote Shuangxi in Shuangxi District, New Taipei, teamed up with a chef to develop the healing-style "Yuanyuan Rice Pack" and "Placemaking Snacks," touted as good-looking, tasty, and healing.

The "Spring Food" series first launched on 4/20 uses quality ingredients from at least six organic-friendly small farmers in Shuangxi and Gongliao, symbolizing rounding out a fateful bond with a friendly Earth, hence the name "Yuanyuan Rice Pack." Footnote Shuangxi cultural translator Jian Shuhui said this rice pack was originally designed for runners of the annual "Chasing the Train" marathon; because of the pandemic the event was postponed to the second half of the year, but over the past five months she had kept developing the rice pack with chef Wu Yuehyuan, changing the menu through at least 10 versions.
