Before watering flowers, you also need to pay attention to the season

When watering flowers, you also need to pay attention to the season. The environment has a very large influence on flowers. Before watering, you should not only observe the condition of the potting soil, but the issue of season also cannot be ignored. So how exactly should you water flowers according to the season?

Datura

1. Spring. After potted flowers are brought outdoors, the first watering must be thorough. In early spring, water once every 2 to 3 days, and afterward once every 1 to 2 days. For annual flowers and trees sown in spring, do not water too much during the sowing and seedling emergence stage.

2. Summer. This is the vigorous season of growth and development for most flowers. On sunny days, water at least once a day. After the dog days begin, on sunny days water once in the morning and once in the evening, and replenish water promptly when the potting soil turns white and dry. However, for potted flowers such as cyclamen that are dormant or semi-dormant, reduce the frequency and amount of watering, and keep them moderately dry.

3. Autumn. Potted flowers and trees shift back into a period of slow growth, and are generally watered once every 2 to 3 days.

4. Winter. Most potted flowers are moved indoors to overwinter. Generally, if the potting soil is not too dry, there is no need to water, and the potting soil should be kept somewhat on the dry side. Flowers in the greenhouse are generally watered once every 1 to 2 weeks, or at most once every 4 to 5 days. Do not water too much or too often.
