How to care for common flowers after Spring Festival? Key points of care methods
Before Spring Festival, many people must have bought potted flowers; they look beautiful displayed at home during the holiday. I wonder if you have ever encountered this phenomenon: the flower looked perfectly fine in the shop, but after you bought it and brought it home, before the 15th day of the first lunar month had even passed, the flower wilted. It seems a pity to throw it away, so what should you do?
Rhododendron
Every day, avoiding the rhododendron buds, spray some water on the rhododendron leaves. Buy a pack of flower fertilizer for two yuan. After the flowers have all finished blooming, loosen the soil 3 to 4 cm deep in the flowerpot, add about 20 g of flower fertilizer every half month, then place the rhododendron in a ventilated place, still watering once a day. After summer passes and autumn arrives, the rhododendron begins to grow flower buds, and by winter it can bloom again. However, if more than 90% of your rhododendron's branches and leaves have already dried up, we suggest you can throw it away.
Cymbidium
The cymbidium has wilted a bit. First, its flowers have finished blooming; second, it has caught a bit of cold; otherwise, it is wilting because water has not kept up. After buying it and bringing it home, it should be kept away from the radiator, and do not let it get too dry. Water it once a week; generally, temperatures from just over ten degrees to 23 or 24 degrees are best.
Sometimes people like to spray water on the flowers; as long as water is held within the leaf veins, that is enough. The flowering period of something like this (bromeliad) is once a year, while anthurium blooms all year round. If the leaves turn yellow, it means too much water; watering once a week is enough. When there are no flowers, fertilizer can be added.
Bromeliad
For bromeliads, look at the roots; once the roots turn black, they have rotted. The only remedy is to stop watering. The key lies in ventilation. Every morning when you get up, at noon, and in the evening, it is fine, even five minutes of ventilation is no problem.
Phalaenopsis
For a flower like phalaenopsis, besides watering once a week, after buying it and bringing it home you should also pay attention to the quality of the potting soil. If the soil is very sticky and not breathable, it also affects the respiration of the root system and can even cause root rot.
