2020 Pingtung Bluefin Tuna Cultural Festival Seafood Banquet Delivered Straight to Your Home

The 2020 Pingtung Bluefin Tuna Cultural Festival's annual "Thousand-Person Banquet Food Extravaganza," a traditional table banquet that sells out in seconds every year, has been cancelled this year due to the pandemic. The Pingtung County Department of Communications and International Affairs stated that in previous years, the most popular part of the Bluefin Tuna Festival series was the banquet-style street food that sold out in seconds; each table was offered at a discounted price of 3,000 yuan, and all 100 tables were snapped up within a single day. Although the event is cancelled this year, the food discounts remain undiminished. Instead, the county has partnered with well-known seafood restaurants in Donggang to plan a limited edition of 350 selected set meals, with 8 dishes per table at 3,000 yuan; shipping costs 270 yuan regardless of region, totaling 3,270 yuan. Online pre-orders open from 10 AM on April 22 until 4 PM on April 29. This year's seafood banquet features a total of 8 representative specialty dishes, including handmade Japanese-style tuna steak, braised shark fin skin soup, Donggang squid balls with sailfish tempura, herbal crispy fresh shrimp, sakura shrimp sticky rice, sweet and sour seafood (fish), imperial taro-braised chicken, and traditional braised four treasures.
