The Tainan City Environmental Protection Bureau, in cooperation with the Xuejia District Farmers' Association for the "2020 Xuejia Wheat Industry Culture Festival," will set up a creative resource recycling awareness booth in the wheat fields of Guanghua Village, Xuejia District, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 14. The public is welcome to join the challenge games and help create a sustainable, low-carbon home.

Mayor Huang Wei-che stated that the Earth's resources are limited and must be used sustainably. Recyclable materials are reusable resources; for example, waste paper can be remade into recycled paper, and waste glass containers can be remade into glass sand or glass bricks. If not recycled and instead treated as general waste and sent to incinerators, it is a waste of resources. He welcomed residents to visit Xuejia during the Saturday holiday, soak up some sunshine, and at the same time support the resource recycling activities.

Tainan City Environmental Protection Bureau Director Hsieh Shih-chieh further explained that on that day, anyone who brings 1 kg of waste dry batteries can exchange them for a bottle of eco-friendly dish soap, while supplies last. There will also be an environmental game device called "Eco Pinball," where participants who complete the challenge and answer questions can receive a fine small gift. At the event site, two lovable environmental protection mascots, "Gold Brother" and "Paper Brother," will appear to welcome the public to capture and take photos with them; prize quiz activities will also be held from time to time, encouraging the public to participate enthusiastically and experience the fun of resource recycling together.

The Tainan City Environmental Protection Bureau Director called on the public that, in addition to handing sorted recyclables to the Environmental Protection Bureau's recycling vehicles or individual recyclers, they can also go to the Environmental Protection Bureau's Treasure Pavilion, village and neighborhood recycling stations, or each district's cleaning team to participate in exchange activities.
