Wuhan Pneumonia Impact 0310"Vegetables in Trouble and in Urgent Need of Assistance! Yunlin Vegetable Farmers Hit Hardest, Bumper Harvest Plus Pandemic Makes It Even Worse
As the COVID-19 (commonly known as Wuhan pneumonia) pandemic continues to spread, the restaurant and tourism industries are in the doldrums, which has in turn affected domestic agriculture. Commercial demand for vegetables has fallen, large quantities of vegetables are going unsold, and prices are sluggish. Yunlin County has been hit the hardest, and some farmers have even plowed their vegetables back into the fields (abandoning the harvest). To help farmers sell their vegetables, the Yunlin Agriculture Department is actively matching them with various distribution channels, and says it welcomes businesses or members of the public to call directly to order vegetables at the dedicated line 05-5522469.
