New Taipei's one-stop investment service scores another success as Tatung Okuma targets international demand
Tatung Okuma Co., Ltd., an international enterprise with Japanese business roots, held a groundbreaking ceremony yesterday (the 24th) in Yingge for the construction of its "Phase 2 Warehouse Building / Phase 3 Operations Plant." New Taipei City Mayor Hou Yu-ih attended to witness the event. Tatung Okuma is expanding in Yingge District, New Taipei City, with a 3-story Phase 2 warehouse building and a 2-story Phase 3 operations plant, with an investment amount reaching 800 million yuan. After completion is expected in June of year 110 (2021), it will strengthen Tatung Okuma's international export capacity in the machine tool market, and the company's future annual output value is estimated to reach about 6 billion yuan.
Mayor Hou Yu-ih stated that since August of last year (year 108, 2019), Tatung Okuma, through the city government's one-stop investment service window, clarified investment obstacles with various bureaus and departments and accelerated administrative review procedures, helping it obtain the construction permit for the Phase 2 warehouse building and Phase 3 operations plant in only about 4 months, creating 800 million yuan in investment and 150 job opportunities for New Taipei. During the current Wuhan pneumonia epidemic prevention period, it is even more necessary for enterprises to expand investment and raise New Taipei's industrial output value. The city government continues to serve manufacturers with an attitude of convenience, benefit, and care for the people, and if enterprises have epidemic prevention-related issues, the city government also actively reports them to the central government.
Okuma Corporation of Japan has 121 years of rich experience in designing and manufacturing machine tools, with overseas bases throughout Europe, Asia, the Americas, and other places. It is Japan's largest machine tool manufacturer. After establishing Tatung Okuma Co., Ltd. as a joint venture with Tatung Co., Ltd. in Taiwan in July 1997, it relocated its plant to Yingge in 2018, where it is responsible in Taiwan for producing high-quality, high-precision, high-value-added models such as two-axis lathes, three-axis turn-mill machining centers, and machining centers.
