Foliar feeding for hydroponic flowers: methods and precautions

Introduction: How to carry out foliar feeding for hydroponic flowers

Static hydroponics is a cultivation method in which the roots are deprived of oxygen, and it can cause certain defects in the normal development of flowers. To improve the quality of the flowers, foliar feeding can be used to supplement nutrients. During the vegetative growth stage of the flowers, a 0.2% potassium nitrate dilution can be sprayed on the leaves.

A fine-nozzle spray bottle should be used, and the fertilizer solution should be prevented from running off as much as possible. The undersides of the leaves should also be sprayed. Spray once a week, and twice during the growing season, to make hydroponic flowers thrive with lush branches and leaves. For flowers that are suitable for foliage display and also for flower appreciation, such as Spathiphyllum (peace lily), Begonia cucullata (wax begonia), Begonia maculata (spotted begonia), and Zantedeschia aethiopica (calla lily), a 0.15% monopotassium phosphate dilution can be sprayed on the leaves once a week from the bud stage until the flowers open.
