Tropical Agriculture Expo showcases Pingtung's agricultural soft power, surpassing 1.1 million visits in 22 days

The 22-day 2020 Pingtung Tropical Agriculture Expo closed on the 9th, with more than 1.1 million visits recorded. Although this year's attendance was affected by the length of the event and a cold snap and did not break the previous attendance record, crowds still poured in in large numbers, surpassing one million visitors and bringing tourism benefits to Pingtung businesses. County Magistrate Pan Meng-an thanked people across the country for their enthusiastic support, which bore witness to Pingtung's agricultural soft power, and said he would see everyone again next year.

County Magistrate Pan Meng-an pointed out that the Pingtung Tropical Agriculture Expo takes agriculture as its starting point and drives the development of Pingtung's tourism industry. The expo's exhibits cover Pingtung's agriculture, fishery and livestock industries. In particular, the painted rice field uses different rice varieties and latitude and longitude measurements to grow a 3D three-dimensional pattern, "definitely not spray-painted on." Through the creation of landscape art, together with weekday food and agriculture experience activities, it is deeply loved by visitors and has become the best check-in photo spot for family outings, family trips, club exchanges and other environmental education.

County Magistrate Pan Meng-an said that this year's expo run was shorter than in previous years, and there were showers during the Spring Festival, but even so it could not hold back the continuous stream of visitors and vehicles. In just 22 days, attendance surpassed 1.1 million. He thanked everyone for their long-standing support of the expo, saying that each year's expo has become a beautiful shared memory for everyone to gather together during the Spring Festival holiday.

The expo's close-to-nature rural life is a great place to relieve stress and free the mind, and it also showcases the achievements of Pingtung's agriculture, livestock, fishery and leisure industries. The expo's closing coincided with the harvest period for melon and fruit crops in the park, so Pingtung County specially held a fruit-picking fun activity, with everyone picking melons together to celebrate the harvest and the successful conclusion of the expo, wishing everyone a full and bountiful new year.
