What flowering plants are suitable for growing in an ordinary home?

For growing flowers at home, potted plants are generally the main choice. Due to limited conditions, do not grow too many; 10 to 15 pots is suitable. It is best to choose flowers that cover foliage plants, flowering plants, fruiting plants, fragrant plants, and plants grown for their form, so that the varieties are rich and diverse.
If growing flowers at home is mainly for decorating the living space, you can grow more foliage plants suitable for indoor cultivation, such as Brazilian wood, Schefflera octophylla, Monstera deliciosa, Spathiphyllum, Areca palm, Rhapis excelsa, Chamaedorea elegans, Aspidistra elatior, spider plant, pothos, Asparagus setaceus, and Clivia miniata. These plants are relatively shade-tolerant and can grow normally with only weak light or scattered light.
If growing flowers at home is for ornamental purposes, you can grow more flowering, fruiting, and stem-ornamental plants and bonsai, such as Chinese rose, camellia, azalea, Aglaia odorata, jasmine, hibiscus, pomegranate, kumquat, Buddha belly bamboo, lucky bamboo, cycad, five-needle pine, elm stump, and banyan stump.
When growing flowers at home, you also need to consider the pairing of flower varieties for the four seasons.
In spring, focus on flowering plants, such as camellia, azalea, plum blossom, narcissus, and winter jasmine, paired with some foliage plants and landscape stone bonsai;
In summer, focus on fragrant plants and cool-toned flowers, such as Michelia alba, Aglaia odorata, jasmine, iris, and hydrangea, paired with some foliage plants and herbaceous flowers;
In autumn, focus on fruiting plants, such as pomegranate, firethorn, kumquat, bitter orange, and potted grape, paired with some colorful-leaf plants, such as sweetgum, poinsettia, trident maple, red maple, laceleaf maple, ginkgo, and spotted laurel, and you can also pair them with some herbaceous flowers and tree-stump bonsai;
In winter, focus on foliage plants, paired with some seasonal flowers and landscape stone bonsai. For foliage plants, choose types that stay green all year and are relatively cold-tolerant, such as cycad, Rhapis excelsa, Areca palm, rubber tree, Brazilian wood, Philodendron bipinnatifidum, Aspidistra elatior, and spider plant. Seasonal flowers include cyclamen, Clivia miniata, poinsettia, hippeastrum, cineraria, primrose, and narcissus.
If you need to purify indoor nighttime air, you should choose succulents, such as cactus, ball cactus, Cereus peruvianus monstrose, Christmas cactus, and jade plant. These plants can absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen at night, and they are drought-tolerant and evergreen all year, but not cold-tolerant. As long as you avoid scorching sun exposure in summer, keep them warm and protected from cold in winter, and keep the potting soil on the dry side, they can all grow normally.
If the indoor space is relatively small, you can choose small potted flowers and hanging plants, such as Asparagus setaceus, cyclamen, miniature Chinese rose, African violet, Haworthia fasciata, Lithops, Saxifraga stolonifera, and Tradescantia zebrina. They beautify the home environment without taking up too much space. These plants are all relatively easy to care for.
