How to grow Chinese ixora in pots? Key points of cultivation and care techniques

The potted Chinese ixora (Ixora chinensis) is an evergreen shrub or small tree of the genus Ixora in the family Rubiaceae. The leaves are elliptical, thinly leathery, and entire; the flowers are terminal, borne in umbel-like inflorescences, with 4 petals clustered together, in colors such as white, red and pink.
I. Potting soil The growing medium should be a slightly acidic humus loam; leaf mold, garden soil and coarse river sand can be mixed in a ratio of 2:1:1 and then sterilized before use.
II. Light and temperature The Chinese ixora likes light but cannot tolerate direct strong sunlight. In spring and autumn it should be placed in a wind-sheltered, sunny spot, while in summer it should be kept under a shade frame. In winter, since the light is softer, let it receive full sunlight. The Chinese ixora likes a warm environment; indoors in winter the temperature should be kept between 12°C and 18°C. It can only be moved outdoors at Qingming in spring, and when the temperature drops below 15°C in autumn it should be brought indoors promptly.
