Hualien tourism marketing and promotion strategy pays off as traveler numbers grow against the trend last year

Hualien County - yesterday (the 16th) released the "2019 Hualien County tourist numbers at scenic recreation areas," which once again broke 10 million, reaching 10.95 million visits, an increase of 1.92 million visits (20%) compared with 2018. Dongdamen Night Market in particular attracted 1.62 million visits in 2019 for spending, with a total of 124,348 night market consumption vouchers, earning it the reputation of "King of Night Markets nationwide" and making it arguably Hualien County's hottest emerging tourist attraction in recent years.

Hualien County's total visitor count for 2019 was 10,956,540 visits. The 2018 figure was 9,032,927 visits. The 2019 figure was 1,923,613 visits more than 2018.
