Pingtung Tropical Agriculture Expo grandly opens on January 18

The 23-day 2020 Tropical Agriculture Expo will open with great fanfare on January 18. This year, the expo's colorful rice paddy area is cooperating with President Chain Store, with the hugely popular star OPEN family as the event's ambassadors, creating an adorable and charming agriculture-themed amusement park to market Pingtung's local products, including 26 highlight theme areas such as 3D three-dimensional painted rice paddies, a spring flower sea, a dreamy colorful gourd corridor, an aquaculture hall, a fruit paradise and a pet area. Admission is free throughout the entire site. Pingtung County Magistrate Pan Meng-an invites people from all over the country to come to Pingtung during the Chinese New Year holiday to enjoy spring outings, to witness together the soft power of Brand Pingtung and Pingtung's farmers, and to experience the green miracle displayed in the park.

Magistrate Pan Meng-an said that since the county government resumed holding the Tropical Agriculture Expo in ROC year 105, the number of visitors during the Chinese New Year period has repeatedly hit new highs, with 1.39 million admissions last year. This year, the colorful rice paddy pattern is a cooperation with President Chain Store, with the hugely popular star OPEN family appearing on the Pingtung colorful rice paddy, and using colorful rice varieties bred by the Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute, creating an adorable and charming agriculture-themed amusement park. He believes the number of visitors will reach a new peak again.

Magistrate Pan Meng-an pointed out that the Tropical Expo not only showcases the fruits, flowers and crops of tropical regions, but also traditional rice cultivation, and through technological techniques turns the rice paddies into an artistic canvas, paired with different themes planned throughout the park, such as a flower sea, a gourd and fruit corridor, an orchid hall and a leisure agriculture area. Especially with this year's warm winter, the gourds and fruits in the colorful gourd corridor are growing quickly, allowing visitors to experience the joy of fruit picking every day, making it the best tourist destination for the Chinese New Year and suitable for families to visit together.

The Pingtung County Agriculture Department pointed out that the Pingtung Tropical Agriculture Expo runs from January 18 to February 9. Apart from being closed on January 24, Chinese New Year's Eve, the park is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free; only a parking cleaning fee is charged (100 yuan for cars, 30 yuan for motorcycles).
