Taipei New Vision 2.0! The East District Gateway Project creates 3,400 job opportunities
The three deputy mayors of Taipei City, Peng Chen-sheng, Tsai Ping-kun and Huang Shan-shan, jointly hosted the "Taipei New Vision 2.0!" press conference yesterday (the 2nd); in his speech, Deputy Mayor Peng Chen-sheng stated that under the West District Gateway Project so far, the Taipei City Government's public sector has invested 5.7 billion yuan, attracted 120 billion yuan in private investment, and created 360,000 ping of floor area. In addition, after the West District Gateway Project is completed this year, it will link the West District and the East District Gateway Projects together. The East District Gateway Project includes five major centers: software, convention and exhibition, transportation, startup and biotechnology park construction. It is hoped that after completion, it will attract 130 billion yuan in private investment, create 3,400 job opportunities, provide a total of 3,086 social housing units, and improve 18.3 hectares of working environment. Next, the second phase of the East and West District Gateway Projects will continue to build a green and trendy international capital facade, moving toward the 2020 new atmosphere of construction 2.0, so that Taipei citizens really have "FU" (a feeling) about the changes in this glorious city.
During the meeting, the media asked whether the East and West District Gateway Project also had a strategy map in 2015, and it seemed that this time it was only continuing what had been done, with no innovation or updates, or whether there would be newer things in the next three years. In response, Deputy Mayor Peng Chen-sheng said that projects or plans all need time. First, complete the original plans. The East District Gateway Project now has 2.0, which can combine public and private investment together. The decline of the East District cannot be revived just by holding events; public and private construction forces must be linked together, so a 3.5-kilometer elevated walkway is planned to connect different government departments and different industries to Nangang Station.
