Hakka Poetry Trail Opening Ceremony Held on a Literary Walkway Alive with Birdsong and Flowers
Hakka Poetry Trail Opening Ceremony A Literary Walkway Alive with Birdsong and Flowers - Hakka Poetry Trail
A "poetry" trail connecting two eras and cultures, and stirring shared memories in all of us; the Liudui Hakka Cultural Park under the Hakka Affairs Council's Hakka Culture Development Center has created yet another new attraction. After the autumn harvest events, on December 11 it held a press conference for the opening of the Hakka Poetry Trail. This space features selected poems by 15 contemporary Hakka poets and 8 classic song lyrics, inscribed here for visitors to enjoy. It is earnestly hoped that everyone will walk into this secluded path and, while enjoying the fragrance and flowers, also catch a glimpse of the beauty of Hakka-language poetry and lyrics, thereby coming to understand Hakka ethnicity and culture.
Since its establishment, the Hakka Affairs Council's Hakka Culture Development Center has continuously promoted Hakka language and culture, such as: writing Hakka poetry calligraphy together, Hakka ballad observation and exchange, and recording Hakka sounds. All of these activities are intended to leave records of the Hakka language in many dimensions so that it can develop. Now, going a step further, it hopes to deepen the cultural foundation of the eco-museum so that the beautiful poetry, text, and sounds of Hakka culture can also be celebrated at the Liudui Hakka Cultural Park.
The "Hakka Poetry Trail" officially opened on the 11th; the environment where the Hakka Poetry Trail is located is on the southwest side of the Liudui Park administration building. This site has a diverse aquatic and terrestrial ecological landscape. The Hakka Poetry Trail is set up here to present Hakka literature integrated into the landscape and terrain, and it is carefully arranged to begin with poetry describing Hakka flowers. In sequence, visitors can appreciate and explore the Hakka food, communal courtyard life, and the childhood, beliefs, and cultural spirit of Hakka villages as written by literary masters. In addition, as visitors stroll along the pedestrian walkway, they can see literary platforms of different styles, each modeled on Hakka cultural elements: the Hakka blue shirt, Hakka window lattice patterns, red brick, roof tiles, and jar motifs, allowing visitors to better appreciate the flavor of literature integrated with Hakka elements while walking and viewing Hakka poetry and literature. Flowering plants, grasses, and trees have also been planted to complement the overall landscape, as if walking into a literary garden with Hakka flavor.
In the future, the Hakka Poetry Trail will not be a cold, lifeless construction, but rather a place for the public to experience the Hakka language. Beyond reading poetry and text to feel the Hakka cultural upbringing of different authors, visitors can also listen to Hakka-language recitations via mobile phone QR Code to get closer to the living source of Hakka culture.
