In the hot summer, pay attention to light and watering issues for flowers

In the hot summer, many flowers also enter a dormant or semi-dormant period, so in summer you must pay attention to the flower varieties to make a summer survival plan for the flowers. However, the editor still needs to remind flower lovers that in the hot summer you must pay attention to shading the flowers, and also pay attention to the issue of watering.

I. Light

Shade to prevent strong light and high temperatures. Temperature and strong light almost always appear at the same time, so blocking strong light can effectively lower the temperature. For flowers that fear both high temperatures and strong light, such as cyclamen and orchids, properly shading them during the hot summer period or keeping them under a shade shed can provide the necessary cool environment for their normal growth and development as they get through the summer and escape the heat. If you do not have a shade shed or cannot build one, you can also use the method of moving them indoors during the day for shade and cooling, and moving them outdoors at night to receive dew and ventilation.

II. Watering

Sprinkle water to increase humidity and lower temperature. During the peak heat of midsummer, sprinkling water around the area where potted flowers are placed and spraying water on the leaves can both increase humidity and play a role in cooling, reduce leaf evaporation, enhance the flowers' drought resistance, and create a cool and moist excellent micro-environment for the flowers. According to observations, after sprinkling water the ground temperature can immediately drop by 1-5°C; a few minutes after spraying water, the leaf surface temperature can drop by 1-2°C. When sprinkling water, never water with cold water at hot noon or on potted flowers that have already begun to wilt, otherwise it is easy to cause "chill" and accelerate their wilting or death.
