Methods for Preventing and Controlling Flower Pests and Diseases During the Plum Rain Season
Before and after the onset of the plum rain season, the main common diseases on major flower crops in our district are brown spot disease, leaf spot disease and anthracnose, followed by root rot, stem base rot, etc. In order to control the occurrence and spread of diseases during the plum rain season, preventive work must be carried out promptly.
I. Disease occurrence: According to observations at this station's monitoring area and surrounding fields, the average plant disease rate of azalea brown spot disease and leaf spot disease is 12.60% (4.0-33.0), and the average leaf disease rate is 3.65% (0.8-7.54); the average plant disease rate of camellia anthracnose is 11.5% (3.00-17.00), and the leaf disease rate is 1.89% (0.43-2.56); the average plant disease rate of stem base rot is 3.75% for azalea and 7.00% for Chinese fringe flower (Loropetalum chinense var. rubrum), and the disease is even more severe in neglected fields.
II. Control recommendations: For chemical control, brown spot disease and leaf spot disease can be treated with 70% Antaisheng or 69% Anke Mancozeb at 800 times dilution; anthracnose can be treated with 80% Thiram at 700 times dilution or 25% Prochloraz manganese salt at 500 times dilution; stem base rot can be treated with 50% Benomyl at 500 times dilution or 50% Carbendazim at 300 times dilution.
