What does "plain sand" mean in flower cultivation?

Beginner flower growers are often confused by some of the professional terms that come up in gardening. If you haven't even figured out the basic professional terms, then many little gardening tips or methods can't be put into practice. Plain sand is one thing that confuses beginner flower growers; in fact, plain sand is simply sand that contains no fertilizer.

Generally, the sand we get needs to be washed several times to rinse away the soil contained in it, and the overly fine sand should also be sifted out (this is not mandatory). The coarse sand obtained this way can then be used. As for plain sand, it is, as mentioned earlier, sand that contains no fertilizer. Sometimes flower growers also come across terms like "plain soil", which basically means the same thing, because plain sand and plain soil are mostly used when taking cuttings; if they contain fertilizer, they can easily cause the cuttings' stems or leaves to rot.
