The market micro-travel promotional event initiated by the Ministry of Economic Affairs came to Taichung City. Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs Wang Mei-hua led a group of tourists riding YouBikes on a ramble through Taichung's old town, experiencing the century-old bustle of the Second Market, tasting the nostalgic meatball rice at the five-star LOHAS renowned stall Lan Braised Pork, and also visiting the Liuchuan Waterfront Promenade, the Fifth Market, the Literature Museum, the Third Market, the Minyi Street cultural and creative market, and the Taichung Cultural and Creative Industries Park... and other rich attractions of the old town.

Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs Wang Mei-hua said that when ordinary people travel abroad, they often visit local traditional markets to experience local life and enjoy distinctive foods. This "market micro-travel" one-day tour event is intended, through itinerary recommendations, to introduce quality traditional markets that have passed the Ministry of Economic Affairs' "Excellent Market and LOHAS Renowned Stall Evaluation" to domestic and international tourists, as a new domestic travel option different from ordinary scenic areas.

Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs Wang Mei-hua said that this central Taiwan themed itinerary particularly recommends roaming the old town by lightly riding a YouBike in Taichung, including the Second Market, the Fifth Market, and the nearby Third Market and Minyi Street cultural and creative market by Taichung Rear Railway Station. People can not only save time waiting for buses and looking for parking spaces, but also savor the beauty of Taichung's old town in detail along the way.

Recently, the "Night Market Consumption Voucher" promoted by the Ministry of Economic Affairs in conjunction with the autumn and winter travel subsidy began distribution on September 16, and can be used until December 31. Travelers only need to stay at a legal accommodation that participates in the autumn and winter domestic travel subsidy program, and each room can receive a 200 yuan night market consumption voucher. The night market consumption vouchers travelers receive can be used at registered or listed night markets in all regions, counties and cities across Taiwan, and have already effectively stimulated night market buying activity.
