2020 International Sea Fireworks Festival Strives for Innovation, First International Fireworks Competition to Be Held

In 2019, the Penghu International Sea Fireworks Festival pioneered the combination of drones and fireworks, creating a new highlight. In just two and a half months, it successfully attracted 420,000 tourist visits and generated 2.1 billion yuan in tourism output value. Next year, international teams will be widely invited to hold a fireworks competition and expand the fireworks photography contest. Penghu County Magistrate Lai Feng-wei said that the drone creativity brought huge business opportunities to Penghu, and he hopes the Fireworks Festival will continue to innovate, polish its signboard, and showcase the unique charm of the Penghu fireworks brand.

Penghu County held a county affairs meeting on the 7th, inviting the Tourism Department to report and share the successful experience of the Penghu International Sea Fireworks Festival. At the same time, it reviewed integrated marketing, improved hardware design, coordinated surrounding supporting activities, continued marketing and promotion, and constantly innovated event content, hoping to bring tourists a brand-new experience and feeling with a fresh image.

County Magistrate Lai Feng-wei said that the Tourism Department's drone creativity brought huge business opportunities to Penghu. The booking rate of the lodging industry grew by 20%, the performance of the car rental industry grew by 50%, and total tourist visits grew by 30%. Local tourism operators were also overwhelmed, and he hoped colleagues would continue to use their creativity to create new highlights for Penghu tourism.

Tourism Department Director Chen Mei-ling said that the Penghu International Sea Fireworks Festival will continue to innovate, with two major development directions: adding value to the brand and attracting investment, and enriching financial resources, to enhance the brand value of the Fireworks Festival. Next year, in addition to the drone light show, there are also plans to launch an international fireworks team competition and expand the fireworks photography contest, once again creating the charm of the fireworks brand.
