2019 Ashanshi Martial Arts Gathering of Masters and National Sports Day event: martial arts in full swing on the 6th

Promoting martial arts and the spirit of filial piety and gratitude, the 2019 Ashanshi Martial Arts Gathering of Masters and National Sports Day event will take place on October 6 at the plaza under the Xiluo Bridge in Yunlin. County Magistrate Zhang Lishan, Chinese Taipei Sports Federation President Zhang Chaoguo, County Councilor You Shuyun, County Chief Advisor Zhang Qingliang, County Government Secretary-General Zhang Zhiming, Education Department Director Qiu Xiaowen, General Manager of the Industrial Development and Investment Promotion Committee Xu Yuzhen, and Yunlin County Sports Association Chairman Guo Zhiheng attended the press conference at the County Government Civil Services Hall on September 30, inviting people from across the country to come to Xiluo, Yunlin on October 6 to make friends through martial arts, watch performances, enjoy food, try sports experiences, and take the spirit of martial arts home.

County Magistrate Zhang Lishan stated that in order to promote martial arts in schools throughout the county, the county government has listed martial arts as a distinctive curriculum for elementary schools, offering five types - tai chi, Qikan martial arts, traditional Chinese martial arts, aerobic boxing, and taekwondo - for schools in each district to choose from. In addition to promoting it through elementary and junior high school education, it is also being extended to communities, so that martial arts can not only strengthen the body and the nation, but also be carried forward, making the loyalty, filial piety, benevolence, and righteousness embodied in martial arts the spirit of Yunlin people. A Minnan proverb says, "You can cross the Zhuoshui River, but you cannot cross the Huwei River," referring to the highly skilled martial artist Ashanshi, whose martial arts disciples were spread throughout the "Xiluo Qikan," the best example of loving one's hometown and cherishing the land, and protecting the people.

The Ashanshi Martial Arts Gathering of Masters and National Sports Day event on October 6 will begin at 10 AM. In addition to martial arts performances, the "Taiwan Filial Piety: Ten Thousand People Filial Piety Foot-Washing" event, which has been part of the Martial Arts Gathering of Masters for many years, will begin at 4 PM that day, with an estimated 3,000 pairs expected to register and participate, inviting local residents and students to come together to thank their parents and express filial devotion. The venue will also feature 15 sports experience activities, performances by winning martial arts and arts teams from across the county, a food area, 60 booths of agricultural specialty and cultural-creative products, Tai Ji Men health cultivation, and an exhibition of Ashanshi historical and cultural materials.
